An Offer Document is the combined legal document (SID + SAI) for a mutual fund scheme — the comprehensive disclosure required for scheme launch and ongoing operations.
The Offer Document refers to the combination of two documents: the Scheme Information Document (SID) and the Statement of Additional Information (SAI). The SID covers scheme-specific information. The SAI covers general information about the AMC, trustee structure, tax information, investor rights, and dispute resolution mechanisms — information common to all schemes of the same AMC. Together they form the complete statutory disclosure that every investor has the right to review before investing.
The Offer Document is the master legal package for any mutual fund scheme — it's everything the fund house is legally required to tell you. The SID (scheme-specific details) + SAI (fund house background, governance, tax info) = complete Offer Document. NFOs publish an Initial Offer Document. For existing schemes, the Offer Document is updated as regulations or fund parameters change.
Published on the AMC's website for every scheme.
SID + SAI together form the Offer Document.
NFO Offer Document must be approved by SEBI before a new scheme can be launched.
Any material change requires an addendum to the Offer Document and investor notification.
